April at Eastfield Glamping Farm – Bluebells, Birdsong & Sundays Done Properly

Love Is In The Air

History Buffs
April’s when the Yorkshire Dales properly start stretching themselves. The fields are greening up, the evenings hang on a bit longer, and there’s that lovely feeling that we’ve turned a corner.
At Eastfield Glamping Farm, April is all about fresh air in the day and slowing right down in the evening. Whether you’re here for Easter, a family break or just a few days away, it’s a cracking time to visit.
We’re tucked just outside Leyburn, right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, with plenty happening nearby.
🌼 Spring Watch at Eastfield – Slow Down & Notice
One of the loveliest things about staying here in April isn’t something you have to drive to — it’s right outside your pod door.
First, it’s the sound.
Step outside early and you’ll hear birds before you see them. Skylarks overhead, robins in the hedgerows, and that steady chorus that only happens when it’s properly quiet. A lot of guests mention how peaceful it feels here — no road noise, no background hum — just countryside getting on with it.
Then there’s the sight.
Keep an eye on the fields and you might spot brown hares boxing — a real sign spring’s arrived. Lambs finding their feet. Birds darting about gathering nesting material. And as the evenings stretch out, the light turns everything soft and golden.
There’s even the smell of spring — fresh growth, damp earth after a light shower, and daffodils lining the drive as you arrive. If you look closely, you might even spot the rarer Pheasant’s Eye variety tucked amongst them.
Sometimes the best part of April isn’t a big day out — it’s just sitting still and watching the season unfold.
🌿 Bluebells & Easy Spring Walks
April is prime bluebell time round here.
Woodland favourites like Hackfall and Leyburn Shawl are lovely this time of year. Fresh green leaves overhead, carpets of blue beginning to show, and quieter paths before the summer rush.
It’s the sort of walking where you don’t need to rush — just good boots, a steady pace and plenty of pauses to take it all in.

🐣 Easter & Family Days Out
If you’re staying with us over Easter, there’s usually plenty going on nearby — spring trails, farm visits and gardens opening for the season.
One of our all-time favourite family days out is Newby Hall. The gardens are beautiful in spring, there’s loads of space for little legs to run about, and it’s the kind of place you can happily spend the whole day without feeling rushed.
For hands-on farm fun, places like The Big Sheep Little Cow and Monk Park Farm are brilliant during lambing season.
🍽️ Sundays Are for Roasts (And We Get Asked This a Lot)
If you’re staying over a Sunday, you’re in luck. A proper Yorkshire roast is never far away.
A few favourites near us include:
The Wyvill Arms, Constable Burton
The Cover Bridge Inn, East Witton
Roast beef, Yorkshire puddings done properly, gravy you could happily drown in — and no washing up afterwards. Walk first, roast after. That’s the rule.
❤️ A Little Love for Leyburn
This month we’re giving a shout-out to The Wonky Book Shop.
It’s one of those lovely independent shops you could easily miss if you didn’t know it was there. Full of books, little finds and bits you won’t see everywhere else. Perfect for a gentle potter round Leyburn on a spring afternoon.
If you’re heading into town during your stay, it’s well worth popping in.
A Reet Lovely Time to Stay
April at Eastfield Glamping Farm is all about balance — fresh air in the day, birdsong in the morning, slow Sundays, and that quiet feeling guests always comment on.
It’s not rushed. It’s not crowded. It’s just spring in the Yorkshire Dales, doing what it does best.
And we’d love to share it with you.
